In development policy work, it is important to point out economic and political connections, to look for practical solutions and to implement them. But it is also important to gain sympathy for the people concerned, their optimism and their drive.
With the campaign “I step out of the shadows” in 2020, we did just that. Women in Switzerland and in the global South went public with their concerns. In doing so, we learned that courageous women in the global South as well as in the North stand up for social security and justice every day.
