Alliance Sud, the Swiss Alliance of Development Organisations, is a joint platform for development policy comprising six Swiss relief organisations. As the founding member of the collective association, SWISSAID has been involved from the very beginning.
Sometimes, a solitary voice is simply not loud enough: SWISSAID was already aware of this back in 1971, and so founded the working group Alliance Sud along with other Swiss development organisations.
The close alliance applies exclusively for work in Switzerland. All six relief organisation members share the view that development in the Southern Hemisphere is not adequately served by helping Third World countries to help themselves. Instead, North-South Hemisphere policies must also be critically examined and modified in the industrialised countries.
The magazine focusing on current North-South Hemisphere policy matters offers analyses and commentary on Swiss foreign and development policy.
Each issue focuses on a central topic and also contains shorter contributions on Alliance Sud’s activities.
The magazine is available as a free download.
