Beans, millet, tomatoes, corn or watermelons: Fruit, vegetable and cereal seeds are far more than just seeds:They are the basis of our diet and the biodiversity of our planet. For centuries, farmers have carefully preserved and developed this valuable heritage. But today, large corporations are in the process of taking control of it.

For years, SWISSAID has been warning of the risks posed by the concentration of seed production in the hands of a few large corporations for access to a diverse diet for all and for biodiversity. Together with partners from the South and North, we are today publishing “Seeds at risk”, a plea for the role of farmers’ seeds in food security and biodiversity conservation, and invite you to the webinar on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at 14:00 (Swiss time).
